Omar Danner, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in Atlanta, GA. Omar Danner, MD is the Founder, Health Educator, Bariatric Surgery and Obesity/Weight Management Expert for the Danbar for Life.com and Physician Weight Management Success Coaching Program. Dr. Danner served as a clinical fellow and instructor of surgery in the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery and Comprehensive Weight Management at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA from 2003-2004. He also served in a similar capacity in the Adult Critical Care Medicine Unit at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD from 2001-2002 under Dr. Pamela Lipsett, Dr. Eddie Cornwell, Dr. Todd Dorman, and Dr. Peter Pronovost. Dr. Danner also completed advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgery, and Comprehensive Weight Management at some of the premier laparoscopic surgery and advanced weight management programs in the country, under the guidance of some of the world’s leading experts in surgical weight control, such as, Dr. Philip Schauer, Madeline Fernstrom, and Dr. Samer Mattar, among others. Dr. Danner believes in taking a comprehensive approach to surgical and non-surgical weight management. His passion is helping people overcome their challenges and ultimately regaining control of their life through the implementation of healthy lifestyle changes. Dr. Danner is a member of many medical societies, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Society for Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and the Society for Critical Care Medicine. |
